Previously, I introduced the concept and the origin of The R Team, a group of RPG characters who set out to save the fractured multiverse in tandem with the main team. The R Team was selected thanks to Reddit's r/createaroster community, and features more than a few inspired choices. Last time, I introduced the founding members of the team, and today we'll expand on the group, getting to our active party size of four.

Katt (Breath of Fire II)

"Are you crazy or something?! What are you rambling on about?!"

As the first Woren, a tribe of tiger-like people who sport cat ears and tails, that the player encounters in the entire series, she's seemingly one of only two remaining Worens in the world. While this later turns out to be untrue with more being introduced in later games, it goes a long way to maker her stand out upon her initial appearance. The player first meets her while competing in a gladiatorial match where she is initially an opponent. When a poison dart strikes her mid-fight, she joins up with the rest of the party to discover why the match had been rigged and who had tried to take her life.

Katt is brash, freely speaking her mind with seemingly no filter. She loves to fight and has a very strong competitive streak. While she can be viewed as arrogant, due in large part to openly bragging about her skill, more often than not she can back up her braggadocio. In combat, she wields a claw-tipped staff and utilizes her natural agility to speed blitz her foes. She can also draw enemy aggro utilizing her Dare ability, and can interact with the environment with her Smash and Hunt abilities, which are fairly self explanatory.

I imagine Link and Rinoa, having united and working together, would encounter her as she takes down a group of enemies single-handedly. Before they can say anything, she'd turn her aggression to them, launching herself at the pair. Katt would be unlikely to be searching for answers as to what's happened and where she is, instead going into full fight or flight mode, and she is not one to choose flight. As she and Link clash, she grins wider and wider, thrilled to find such a skilled opponent. Rinoa eventually stops the two, realizing that Katt isn't just a mindless enemy and seems to be enjoying herself more than anything. Though a bit hesitant, she listens as Rinoa explains what they know. Deciding that it will lead to even more fun fights, and declaring Link as her rival, Katt officially joins up with the group.

Rogue (Mega Man Star Force 2)

"Don't think this makes us friends."

As the last remaining member of the ancient civilization of Mu, Solo's childhood saw him being maliciously tormented by others for his odd appearance. As he grew, he discovered that while they were strong in groups, when the individuals were alone and caught off guard, they became weak and helpless. This inspired him to focus solely on his personal strength to detriment of all other factors. As such, he has an outright hatred to the very ideas of friendship and loyalty. While this often makes him a loner, he's not opposed to working with others as long as their is benefit to him.

In the Star Force series, characters able to undergo a process known as EM Wave Change, which allows them to temporarily merge with an EM being in order to become part of the Wave World and battle other EM beings. The process, when beings are compatible, is more than sum of its parts, giving tremendous power. Solo, however, is unique in that he can undergo the process without the need of an EM being, being able to see and utilize waves on his own thanks to his Mu heritage. When performing an EM Wave Change, he becomes Rogue, greatly increasing his natural combat abilities. Though originally a rival/ antagonist, he works alongside the player a number of times and gradually becomes less hostile.

In combat, he has a variety of options at his disposal. He can attack at close range with punches, kicks, and his Darklight Harvester blade. His bracelet, from which he can produce the blade, allows for the manipulation of dark energy. He's also equipped with a boost system that allows him to use EM energy to move freely in all directions. It also allows him to augment his physical attacks to hit harder or move incredibly fast. He also has Super Armor, that prevents him from flinching, as well as an EM Barrier that can deflect attacks that would otherwise harm him.

Rogue would be unlikely to join the team unless he saw a direct benefit for himself. As such, I can see him joining up with our heroes for brief periods in order to accomplish a specific goal, and would initially turn hostile at the thought of travelling together. He would be incredibly likely to clash with Katt, whose brash and competitive nature would clash with his own. Eventually, after an event in which Link, Rinoa, and Katt are separated, Rogue would begrudgingly come to the aid of Rinoa, agreeing to help reunite her with the others in exchange for something for himself. Rinoa, being the heart and soul of the team and very accustomed to dealing with brooding loners, would wear down his walls. By the time they reunite with the others, Rogue agrees to join the group, though he makes it clear that he has his own agenda.
